Primary haemostasis

Platelet aggregation is the gold standard for investigating primary haemostasis.

This assay assesses platelet aggregate formation in vitro. It is typically performed by adding various agents that induce aggregation to platelet-rich plasma, then monitoring changes in the plasma’s optical density as the platelets aggregate.
